A bit about the path and the process.

My strength lies solely in my tenacity.

-
Louis Pasteur

The need to bring forth beauty from the void is the driving force which makes all trials endurable. The path to a successful career is paved with countless hours of research, years of personal development, uncharted territory and, if you’re a creative like me, the unabated compulsion to make something out of nothing. I could never say that being a creative is easy. The cliche of artists starving for their craft, though well deserved, is incomplete. It is the process of creating that feeds. To be a maker is certainly challenging, but the work itself will sustain, again and again.

From photojournalism to marketing, I could have never predicted what would unfold in my career. Over the years, it has changed forms many times. Stagnation is not an option and I long for consistent growth. The most fulfilling aspects of my history have been working under mentors who delight in sharing their wisdom and paying that forward to those just entering the field.

My professional personality is the marriage of big picture exploration and the religious monitoring of quality. Unpacking the logistics of any project is necessary and, for me, thrilling. So I seek to balance the micro with the macro. A broad vision means staying on top of the work as a whole, being constantly aware of the trajectory, reinforcing the weakest points, and holding a keen sensitivity to the world at large. This, I believe, is the recipe for sustainable growth and meaningful work.

What will the future hold? I ask myself often. With certainty, I can say it will hold a quality of generosity and maybe a trace of luck. Whatever may come outside of these things, it will be greeted with love, wisdom and nurtured tenacity. I look toward the horizon with warm enthusiasm.

Ever onward.
